Building a Better AIG for You: Improved Underwriting Guidelines for Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)
Great news! Effective Monday, April 4, 2016, AIG’s member life insurers, underwriters, and medical directors will use the Gen Re manual to underwrite clients with Coronary Artery Disease (CAD).
What does this mean for you and your clients?
You may begin seeing more competitive offers on clients with mild to moderate CAD histories. Please note: When the CAD section directs the underwriter to add combination debits for a related condition such as an arrhythmia or tobacco use, AIG also will use that section from the Gen Re Manual for guidance on combination debits.
AIG will continue to use the Swiss Re manual as our sole manual for all other non-CAD impairments, including conditions related to CAD.
This underwriting change is part of our ongoing effort to build a better AIG for you. They look forward to the opportunity to continue earning your business!
