Agents can now begin using BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina's voice signature to obtain application and scope of appointment signatures.
This functionality should be helpful when you’re unable to capture a physical signature face to face. It can be used for the application and the SOA. It requires a phone call and can be used for all Over 65 products: Blue Medicare Advantage, Blue Medicare Supplement, Blue Medicare Part D, and Healthy Blue + Medicare (DSNP).
A few things to note:
- You cannot obtain both the voice signature for the SOA and application in the same phone call. Once you obtain the SOA, you’ll have to dial back and select the option 2 for the application signature.
- You can only obtain the signature for one beneficiary per phone call so you’ll need to dial back in for a different beneficiary.
- If you’re on the phone with your client, you’ll need to hang up and dial the voice authorization then add your client to the authorization line to obtain the signature needed.
- All steps outlined in the document linked below are required to meet compliance guidelines.
