Aetna: Regarding 2023 SilverScript SmartSaver (PDP)
For Plan Year 2023, Aetna made a strategic decision to not display the SilverScript SmartSaver (PDP) plans in their partner sales tools because they are no longer paying commissions on new sales. Those plans remain available through Aetna’s direct-to-consumer sales channels for member self-directed sales.
Aetna has had a number of requests for a variance to this strategic decision, which they have considered. At present, they are unlikely to reverse their approach as they want to ensure that no agent sells their SmartSaver Rx plans and is disappointed that they are not compensated for that sale.
