Food Lion, Walmart, and More Join the 2024 Aetna Extra Benefits Card

In 2024, Aetna Extra Benefits Card Members will have “wallets” that hold allowances for their spending options. Wallet allowances on D-SNP plans are monthly with roll over, and on Value Plus (LIS) plans are quarterly without roll over.

Plans have the Extra Supports Wallet; and select D-SNP plans also have the Dental, Vision, Hearing Wallet loaded to their Extra Benefits Card.

Wallets are offered to all members on D-SNP plans. Wallets on Value Plus (LIS) plans are offered to members that receive LIS status (Extra Help) from CMS (no care management or clinical intervention is required).

Here’s what the wallets cover:
D-SNP Assure Flex plans and Value Plus (LIS) Plans include the Extra Supports Wallet. D-SNP Assure plans include both the Extra Supports Wallet and the Dental Vision Hearing Wallet.

The Extra Supports Wallet covers the following:

• Food
• OTC*
• Personal care Items
• Pet care supplies
• Transportation
• Utlities
• Rent/Mortgage Assistance

*OTC items are only included in the Extra Supports Wallet for D-SNPs. Value Plus (LIS) plans have OTC through OTCHS

The Dental, Vision, and Hearing Wallet covers the following:

• Dental
  • Dental fillings
  • Extractions and implants
  • Crowns and dentures
• Vision
  • Annual eye exams
  • Eyeglasses frames and lenses
  • Contact lenses
  • Prescription sunglasses
• Hearing services
  • Hearing Aids and Exams
