Bright HealthCare Special Enrollment Period

A Special Enrollment Period (SEP) has been opened for a specific number of Individual & Family Plans (IFP) in all Bright HealthCare states (excluding CA and CO) to correct a discrepancy in plan name information displayed on HealthCare.gov. Please note that this SEP does not impact member benefits. This SEP has been opened by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to ensure members clearly understand the health benefits associated with the health plan they purchased during Open Enrollment for 2022.

Members will be receiving a letter after May 20th notifying them of their eligibility for this SEP and the options available to them. These options include:

  • Staying in their current plan
  • Switch to a different Bright HealthCare plan
  • Switch to a health care plan with another carrier
Please note: A small selection of members will receive a letter regarding the plan name change, but will not have an SEP available to them.

Members do not need to make a change to their current plan. If they are happy with their current coverage, no action is needed. If a member prefers to make change, they will have 60 days from the date on their SEP notification letter.
