Effective September 30, 2023, Aetna's decreased premium rates for the following ancillary plans in Florida (for new and existing business):
- Cancer and Heart Attack or Stroke Plus
(8% premium rate decrease) - Dental Insurance Plans
(2% premium rate decrease) - Dental Plus Insurance Plans
(2% premium rate decrease) - Hospital Indemnity Flex
(20% premium rate decrease)
Aetna updated the brochure, outline of coverage and rate sheets for these plans, which you can view, download, and order on the agent side of AetnaSeniorProducts.com (under Products > Order Supplies).
- Policies with an effective date on or after September 30, 2023 will receive the new rate.
- Existing policyholders will receive the rate decrease on their policy anniversary date.

An extension was granted by Connect for Health Colorado for those who were not able to complete their 2023-24 Returning Broker Certification Training.
Recertification training is now due Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 11:59 PM MST.
In November 2022, Massachusetts became the first state to pass a Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) requirement for dental insurance companies to pay at least 83% of premium in claims or refund the difference to customers. That requirement becomes effective on January 1, 2024.

Select 2024 Wellcare plans will now include the Wellcare Spendables Card. This program replaces the previous Flex Card benefit program and will be offered across all states.
In 2024, Aetna Extra Benefits Card Members will have “wallets” that hold allowances for their spending options. Wallet allowances on D-SNP plans are monthly with roll over, and on Value Plus (LIS) plans are quarterly without roll over.
