CMS Implements System Changes to Stop Unauthorized Agent and Broker Marketplace Activity

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) implemented new policies aimed at preventing unauthorized changes to Marketplace plans, effective immediately.

CMS Hosts a Training for Agents for the 2025 Health Insurance Marketplace

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will host a registration and training process for new agents and brokers. The virtual training will include an overview, general Marketplace updates, and best practices and will be held on July 23 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.

Ambetter Health Exiting New Mexico Marketplace for Plan Year 2025

For plan year 2025, Ambetter from Western Sky Community Care will not offer health insurance coverage on BeWell, the New Mexico Health Insurance Marketplace. Ambetter from Western Sky Community Care members will remain covered under their current plans until December 31, 2024, when their policies expire. 

HCSC Acquires Cigna's MA and Supplemental Benefits Business

Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cigna's Medicare Advantage, Supplemental Benefits, Medicare Part D, and CareAllies businesses. Subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions, the transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2025.
